COACHING OF TEAMS AND GROUPS

Success and failure in large-scale projects are always a question of co-operation – in the core team or across area boundaries and hierarchies. Complex problems can therefore not be solved, when attention is paid only to sub-aspects or individuals.

Objective

As part of the work of CNG Collabor8, disturbances within the diverse network of relationships and communication are tracked down and processed specifically with all participants. By changing the communication, problem-solving, and conflict culture, and focusing the thoughts on what can be done together, the foundation is laid for a more constructive co-operation and the energy combined for fulfilling the task.
When gladness and pride of the common achievements and successes prevail at the end, the success of the team strengthens the team spirit and the commitment to project results. The new way of working with teams has an impact beyond the specific project. Experiencing successful communication, problem solution, and the amount of common achievements is fun and makes you want more! Co-operation will change lastingly!

Methods

The approach of CNG Collabor8 relies on the competencies, ideas and potentials available in the organization and helps to use them in a solution-oriented manner. The methods employed when working in groups are manifold and are selected based on the relevant cultural and social context and the content: besides classic group and facilitation methods, systemic constructivist approaches as well as team coaching methods are broadly used. Proven team methods to positively manage resistance, conflicts, and crises are used in a practice-oriented fashion, just as innovative methods for modelling structures or processes, such as organisational constellations. Besides, current methods for expanding the solution space are involved, such as the leadership model of the Theory U by Prof. Dr. Otto Scharmer (MIT) or Design Thinking (d.school Stanford University/HPI Potsdam) for solving problems and developing new ideas.

It is always accompanied by empathy and passion, creativity and humour.

Working with teams and groups: project examples (excerpt)

  • Team coaching for three general managers of a service provider to increase the effectiveness of the leadership competence and establish a clear understanding of roles
  • Ensuring the transfer of concepts for the cross-functional co-operation by setting up and supervising large-group training by means of a train-the-trainer approach for 4,000 engineers, designers, and purchasers of an automotive group
  • Team coaching of the involved functional managers for implementing the results of a value chain optimisation project at a global fashion group
  • Executive coaching for an international service company (first and second management level) for implementing the necessary reorganisation of the leadership team
